What is an email marketing tool?

With the advent of social commerce, social shopping, and other modalities in e-commerce, the market has become more competitive. Therefore the advertising and marketing needed to market products or services needs to be bigger and better.

Marketing now needs to be done in more conspicuous ways. The customer demands and needs more and more. Campaigns need to be more aggressive and use all possible resources. Within these resources are all those that refer to e-mail or e-mail. These types of resources are referred to under e-mail marketing names.

Email marketing uses email from potential buyers to inform about a product. It makes it possible to create an offer specially designed for the characteristics of the client and their reality. In addition, it allows you to offer exclusive offers for a certain period.

In addition, email marketing costs are quite small compared to other traditional marketing tools. This means that each company can invest very little in advertising the product. It gives better control over the target group you want to inform.

The best email Marketing Tools

HubSpot

The first one that I’d like to talk about is HubSpot. You can find it at hubspot.com and then go to their product listing and find their email marketing platform. This platform has been around since 2004.

HubSpot started email marketing with the idea that people were sick of getting spam emails, and so they really started a reader-centric email marketing system. They wanted it to be personalized. They wanted it to be valuable. And it has really grown since then.

I would say that today HubSpot’s email marketing platform is probably known as the industry leader. It’s a full-fledged system. It has all the bells and whistles. You can even integrate social media. It integrates with most website platforms. They offer very robust analytical data, A/B testing, lead generation, lead scoring, and automation. Okay, so HubSpot, if you’re looking to get into email marketing for the long run, you have a decent budget to play with, I would recommend going with HubSpot right away. So you can see, you could click on the Pricing link here on the HubSpot website. We want to be in the Marketing Hub.

They offer a lot of different services. You’ll notice that they do have a free version, however when we click on free, it shows us all the different features that come with that and scroll down a little bit here. Email marketing is not one of those with the free version.

So you can start at $45 a month for the version that does include email marketing. Again, this is a great product. You’re definitely going to get your money’s worth if you have the budget, you can kind of scroll down through here and you can see that with that first-tiered version we can send to 1,000 contacts.  Definitely a great tool, one of the top ones in the industry.

Constant Contact

The next one that I want to talk about is Constant Contact. Constant Contact is also an industry leader. It’s been around for a long time. It doesn’t offer quite the features, especially when it comes to the CRM element of things that HubSpot offers. But it offers everything that you need in a good email marketing platform.

They also offer really good personalized support. It’s definitely a great place to start out. You can see that they offer email templates that are responsive for mobile platforms, and you can just get a whole bunch of details here on the website. Again, it’s constantcontact.com.

And you can start a free trial with Constant Contact, so that’s definitely worth trying out. Again, it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles, but it’s definitely a very robust email marketing platform and it has stood the test of time. It’s been around for a long time. So you know that you can trust that it’s going to be available to you in the future.

AWeber

The next one I want to talk about is also one that’s been around for a long time and that is AWeber. AWeber is known as a great tool for lead generation, so when we talk about lead generation, we’re talking about getting people to sign up for your newsletter on your website, so they do a good job with a lot of different tools to get people to opt-in.

They also have very good WordPress integration, so if you’re using WordPress website, you can easily integrate AWeber so you can get people to sign up on your site. If we go to the features here, we’ll be able to take a look.

ActiveCampaign

Moving on, we have ActiveCampaign. ActiveCampaign is more like HubSpot. It is a fully functional email marketing platform that has CRM functionalities.

ActiveCampaign also integrates really well with WordPress and you can market based on your user behavior. So this is really important. If this person has already purchased my product, they’re going to get one newsletter. Maybe if they’ve purchased multiple products they’ll get a different one. If they haven’t purchased yet, then they get the not yet a customer newsletter. So you can do all of that with ActiveCampaign.

If you take a look at the Features dropdown, we can see some of the different features that they offer that you can segment your emails, run analytics on that.

We have our split testing, our A/B testing which I also mentioned was important.

So if you’re just starting out, but you do need to be able to send to quite a few contacts, ActiveCampaign would definitely be a good option. And again, they have a free trial so definitely make use of that.

Mailchimp

The last one I want to talk about is Mailchimp. And I want to talk about it for a couple of different reasons. First of all, it is one of the industry leaders. It’s one of the most popular platforms out there, which is why I think it deserves to be mentioned. But I will say that there seems to be a lot of people who just don’t like Mailchimp, and then the people who do like it, love it.

I would say that its biggest benefit is its ease of use. So it’s really easy to get started with Mailchimp for just your ma and pa shop. You can get your email newsletter out there an hour or two after you sign up for your account. And it has a lot of app integration, so with all of your blogging platforms, with a lot of social media.

It’s a really popular tool so a lot of developers have developed integrations for Mailchimp.

It integrates with your social media so we can connect with our Facebook ads and our Instagram ads so that we could then send different newsletters to people who’ve seen those advertisements. And you can see it integrates with a lot of platforms as I mentioned, Salesforce, Shopify, WooCommerce.

You have a lot of different features with Mailchimp. There also is a free trial that you can use. Let’s take a look at the pricing on Mailchimp.

If you’re unsure how much ROI you’re going to get from your email campaign, well, why don’t you start for free and anything you make is a return, right? So Mailchimp is a good option. It isn’t up there with HubSpot and ActiveCampaign, but if you’re just starting out with email marketing, it’s definitely a good option to try.
